The Veynes market takes place every Thursday morning. On other days, the Plan d’eau des Iscles, the Dévoluy, Orpierre and the wider escapes towards Serre-Ponçon make it easy to shape the stay according to the mood of the day.
As in many Alpine valleys, a railway line quietly accompanies the nearby landscape; it is part of local life and does not take away from the overall calm of the bastide.
